Cannabis and or CBD therapeutics a personal medicine. There is no single ratio or strain or product that’s right for everyone. Optimize your therapeutic use of CBD or cannabis by finding the proper combination of CBD and THC that works best for you. A person’s sensitivity to THC is a key factor in determining the appropriate ratio and dosage of CBD-rich medicine. CBD, or cannabinoid, is one of 100+ phytocannabinoids in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC which is just one of the 100+ cannabinoids
Many people become discouraged as it’s not a quick fix as we all have been programmed by the pHarma companies. Instant gratification and all that – have a headache take a pill.
In essence, the goal is to administer consistent, measurable doses of a CBD- rich remedy. Consistent is the word of the day.
What dosage of CBD should I take?
Because every “body” is different there is no one answer fits all. It all depends on the illness or type of medical condition.
Because of this many people recommend taking a low dosage and increasing it gradually depending on how the user is feeling. We at Baja Hemp always tell people to take a double dose for the first week and then lower it because most people will require more than the recommended dosage that is on the label. It is best to be consistent and regular and over time your body gets a chance to heal – consistency. There have not been any reports on overdose from CBD.
How long before it starts to work
It really is an experiment because it is based on the mode of consumption, dosage and your own personal health issues. It is very personal, what works for one does not work for another.
Methods of Usage
- Vaping
- Sublingual
- Topical
- Oral
Vaping:
Vaping is the fastest delivery of CBD into the body. The body absorbs it quickly because the active ingredient enters the directly into the bloodstream.
Sublingually:
This is the second fastest option is consuming it sublingually. In most cases, it takes a few minutes before the CBD starts working if it has been taken sublingually.
Sublingually means keeping the oil under the tongue for a short while before swallowing. It is the most popular way of consumption. Usually, the effect will be felt between 20-40 minutes after ingestion and lasts approx. 4-6 hours
Topical:
This method is one of the slowest and used to treat pain and skin problems by rubbing it into the skin. It is used for arthritis and skin disease however it takes up to 1 hour after usage to feel its effects but it lasts more than 5 hours thus making it a good method of usage
CBD Patches:
There are several advantages to the patches. Put it on and forget it. It delivers a constant stream of CBD into your bloodstream at a steady rate over a longer period of time. It’s great for older people or children or generally for people that forget to take medications. It is discrete and easy to use and most patches last 96 hours. At least ours last 96 hours and some have said even longer.
They are great for headaches, backaches, PMS, shoulder and neck pain. I have used them successfully at different locations and for different things.
Edibles and Capsules:
The last option is to eat or swallow it, however, this takes the longest to produce the desired outcome.
It is influenced by the last time you consumed food and the quantity of food. It is highly recommended to take it on an empty stomach so it is has an easy time digesting and absorbing into your bloodstream.
This method is considered the slowest and for people with a healthy digestive system, it can take as little as 20 minutes to 1-2 hours to take effect. The effect lasts 5-6 hours.
